Now here's something to test your engineering intuitions! SIMPLINEER-- a conglomeration of events ranging across the various disciplines of engineering is one the most sought after events in ENGINEER.SIMPLINEER requires just a basic cognizance of all Engineering disciplines and good teamwork.

Details

  • The event primarily deals with concepts from – Electrical and Electronics, Computer Science, Mechanical and Civil. However, participants from other disciplines would find it equally invigorating and exciting.
  • Teams may comprise a maximum of 4 members. It is advisable to have 4 members from different streams of engineering. However, there are no such stringent criteria.
  • A particular team may comprise of participants from different institutions.
  • A preliminary online test will be conducted for all the registered teams which would qualify them to the finals @NITK. The preliminary round will consist of questions from various fields of engineering.

Prelims for Outstation Participants

An online Prelims will be held on 23rd and 25th of October 2009 for outstation participants. It will be a selection round. Teams will be selected based on their performance in the Prelims.

You can write the prelims anytime between 23rd October 2009, evening 17:00 hours to 25th October 2009, evening 20:00 hours.

Here are a few details about the Prelims:

  • It will be an online event.
  • You can attempt for maximum of 60 questions.
  • Time limit is 45 minutes.
  • You will be tested on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computers, Electronics, Mechanical and Civil.
  • Questions will be a mix of all kind stated above.

Results of this Online Prelims will be announced by 23:00 hours on 25th October, 2009.

Teams selected for the final round would face SIX specified tasks/challenges (a task may be a blend of multiple branches) over a period of 3 days during ENGINEER 09. Each of these tasks MAY/MAY NOT involve the participation of all 4 members (depending on the nature of the tasks). The problem statements and the rules for the tasks will be given on spot. Points would be awarded for ingenuity and dexterity as per the rules set for the challenges. The winning teams would be decided based on the CUMULATIVE points collected over a period of 3 days
