Online Algorithms
Event Introduction
The importance of algorithms in todays world can hardly be over emphasized. The term was coined in 825 A.D. by Al-Khwārizmī, Persian astronomer and mathematician, in his treatise 'On Calculation with Indian Numerals.' Today this field encompasses all branches of mathematics and other domains of thought and knowledge. Algorithms bridge the gap between the real world and pure abstract mathematics. Engineer acknowledges the vast contribution and importance of algorithms in technical domain. For the first time, engineer shall have the online algorithms contest to tickle your grey cells and further encourage research in this area.

Mode of Submission : Solutions may be given in C/C++/Pseudo Code. Participants can directly mail their solutions (in pdf/doc/docx/txt format) to onlinealgo@engineer.org.in
Results : Final Results will be declared on last day of Engineer (Nov 1, Sunday), and winner(s) will be notified by email. Elegance of solution is a criterion. Optimized algorithms in terms of time and space complexity will receive higher credit. A preluding passage describing logical flow of thought for each solution will be most preferred. Participants please note that this is an individual event and no teams considered.
