Event Introduction

Blueprint, the paper presentation contest held as part of Engineer attracts some of the best minds from all over the country. In this event, participants are invited to present papers spanning various research topics pertaining to the different branches of engineering. In this, we particularly deal with Metallurgical and Materials Engineering section.

Your presentation can be on a plethora of topics spanning from physical metallurgy to aerospace materials and beyond. A few of them are given below-

• Smart materials: Piezoelectric materials, Magnetic shape memory alloys, pH-sensitive polymers, Temperature-responsive , Halochromic materials, thermochromic materials, multiferroic materials.
• Bio materials: Biomaterials that can be used in Joint replacements, Bone plates, Bone cement, Artificial ligaments and tendons, Dental implants for tooth fixation, Blood vessel prostheses, Heart valves, Skin repair devices, Cochlear replacements and Contact lenses.
• Nanotechnology: Includes a wide spectrum of topics, but we expect you to narrow down to those related to materials and metallurgical aspects.
• Process Dynamics: Includes hydroprocessing, hydrodesulfurization, solvent extraction, dewaxing and deoiling.
• Modeling, Simulation & Control: Includes modelling of any process or system like heat transfer, fluid dynamics, alloy systems and so on.
• Separation Techniques: Conventional filteration, Microfilteration , Ultrafilteration, Reverse osmosis, froth floatation and flocculation.
• Ceramics, composites, polymers and powder technology: Topics can include synthesis, study of various properties and applications.
• Mass and heat transfer: Fluid dynamics, conduction, convection, radiation and any other related topics.
• Alloy systems: Super alloys, Shape memory alloys, complex metallic alloys, high entropy alloys and new age alloys.

Note: The topics listed above are only indicative and not exhaustive. If your research does not fall in one or more of the above categories, but is related to Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in general, please do not hesitate to submit your paper. We will accept and review research in other fields related to Metallurgical and Materials Engineering as well.
